11 Years of Photography in Cape Coral: Why Local Experience Matters

Eleven years.
That’s how long I’ve had the privilege of doing what I love — photographing people, families, milestones, businesses, and all of the moments in between.
As a Cape Coral native, this area isn’t just where I happen to have a photography studio. It’s home. I grew up here, I’ve watched Southwest Florida change and grow, and I’ve spent countless hours exploring the beaches, parks, neighborhoods, waterfronts, and hidden little spots that make this area so special.
And after 11 years as a professional photographer, I’ve learned something pretty important:
The location can make all the difference in your photos.
Your Photographer Should Know More Than Just How to Use a Camera
When you book a photographer, you’re not just hiring someone to take pictures. You’re trusting them to help you figure out where, when, what to wear, how to pose, and how to make the entire experience feel comfortable.
One of the biggest advantages of being a local photographer is knowing the area.
I know which beaches have beautiful sunsets, which locations work better in the morning, where we can find shade when the Florida sun is brutal, which parks give us gorgeous greenery, and which spots are perfect for a particular type of session.
I also know that Southwest Florida weather can have a mind of its own!
Sometimes we need a backup plan. Sometimes we need to chase the sunset. Sometimes the perfect location is a spot that isn't immediately obvious.
After 11 years, I have a pretty good list of favorites — and I’m always discovering new ones.

More Than Just Family Photography
While families are a huge part of what I do, my photography business has grown into so much more over the years.
I photograph families, children, newborns, first birthdays, cake smashes, seniors, headshots, branding sessions, events, weddings, real estate, and so much more.
Family Photography
Family sessions are about capturing your family exactly as you are right now.
The kids won't always be this little. They won't always make those funny faces, hold your hand, or run around with the same energy they have today.
Whether you want a beautiful outdoor session, a studio experience, or something more candid and relaxed, my goal is to create images that you'll still love years from now.
Newborn Photography
There is something incredibly special about photographing those first few weeks of a baby's life.
Tiny fingers. Tiny toes. Those sleepy little faces. The way a newborn fits perfectly into your arms.
Newborn photography isn't just about beautiful poses and props. It's about preserving a tiny chapter of your family's story that goes by unbelievably fast.
First Birthdays & Cake Smashes
One minute you're bringing home a newborn, and somehow you're planning their first birthday!
Cake smash sessions are one of my favorite ways to celebrate that huge first milestone. We can create a fun, colorful setup around your little one's personality, theme, or birthday colors — and, of course, let them make an absolutely glorious mess of their cake.
Senior Portraits
Senior year is such an exciting transition, and senior portraits should feel like them.
Whether your senior wants a beach session, an urban look, something natural and outdoorsy, or a combination of locations and outfits, I love creating senior portraits that showcase their personality rather than making every senior session look exactly the same.
Headshots & Branding
Your photos are often the first impression people have of your business.
Professional headshots and branding photography can help you show up confidently on your website, social media, marketing materials, and everywhere your clients find you.
Whether you're an entrepreneur, a small business owner, a real estate professional, or building your personal brand, we can create images that feel professional while still looking like you.
Events & Weddings
Some moments simply can't be recreated.
Weddings, birthdays, celebrations, performances, corporate events, and other special occasions move quickly. My job is to be there for the big moments while also noticing the little ones happening around them.
The hugs. The laughter. The reactions. The details. The people you may not even realize were watching.
Those are the photographs that often become the favorites.
Real Estate Photography
I also photograph properties for real estate professionals, helping showcase homes in a way that makes potential buyers want to see more.
Good real estate photography isn't just about documenting a house. It's about highlighting the space, the features, the light, and the details that make a property feel like somewhere someone would want to live.
Why I Love Being a Cape Coral Photographer
There are a lot of photographers in Southwest Florida, and I think that's a wonderful thing. There are so many talented people in this area.
But for me, being a photographer here is about more than running a business.
This is home.
I've watched Cape Coral grow from the place I grew up into the bustling Southwest Florida community it is today. I've seen new neighborhoods, businesses, restaurants, parks, and waterfront areas pop up, while some of the places I remember from years ago are still here.
I know the area.
I know the light.
I know the locations.
And I know that sometimes the most beautiful photographs aren't necessarily taken at the most obvious places.
11 Years of Stories
Over the past 11 years, I've photographed families who have come back year after year. I've photographed newborns who later returned for their first birthdays and children who I've had the privilege of watching grow up in front of my camera.
I've photographed couples, graduates, business owners, babies, grandparents, pets, celebrations, and once-in-a-lifetime moments.
And that's probably my favorite part of this job.
People.
Photography allows me to meet so many different people and become a small part of their stories. I get to freeze moments that might otherwise exist for only a second.
Eleven years later, I still don't take that for granted.
Whether you're looking for family portraits in Cape Coral, a newborn session, a cake smash for your baby's first birthday, senior portraits, professional headshots, branding photography, event coverage, wedding photography, real estate images, or something completely different — I'd love to help bring your vision to life.
And if you aren't sure where to take your photos?
Don't worry.
That's one of the perks of hiring a local photographer who's been doing this for 11 years.
I've got plenty of ideas.
